Why is there a diagnostic charge on my invoice? The diagnostic is usually free with repairs. In extreme cases, we may be forced to charge you a fee if it takes several hours to find the problem. If you choose to effect the repairs yourself there is a minimum $42.50 charge for one half hour. There is no guarantee that that will be the only problem your car has. A second diagnostic may have to be performed.
Cars are no longer simple mechanical devices. They are complex, unstable, and temperamental creatures requiring patient analysis by qualified technicians, or "Systems Analysts". Diagnostics can sometimes take hours, or even days to complete. There are procedures, and flowcharts, and rules to follow. Voltages to check, pressures to measure, and calibrations to make. Regardless of the time we invest in diagnosing your problem, you usually only get charged a fraction of that.

What is the EPA charge? The EPA charge is a nominal fee we must charge to help with the expenses of running a "green" shop. We support a healthy environment by cleaning up spills and messes, and properly disposing of toxic materials.

How quickly can I get my car back? Depending on the car and the availability of parts, most repairs can be performed in one day. Engines and transmissions usually take about a week. Air conditioning problems can usually be repaired overnight providing all parts are readily available.

| |
What are your shop rates? Shop rates can vary according to the extent of repairs, your age, your car, your occupation. Senior citizens receive the lowest rates, as do police, fire personnel, and repeat customers. 1 ton and over trucks, motorhomes, and RV's have the highest rate because of the difficulty, and danger of working on these types of vehicles. Our rates are very competitive to other professional shops, and we often will reduce our rates to accomodate your budget.

Who works on my car? We have only qualified personnel working on your car. We do not hire "part changers" or helpers. The technician who diagnoses your car will also perform the repairs.

What kind of warranty can I expect? Warranties will vary according to the type of part, vehicle, and use. Brake pads, and clutch discs usually carry no warranty because of the abuse some drivers subject their cars to. Alternators, starters, water pumps, power steering pumps, etc, usually carry a 1 year warranty, with labor warranties expiring after 90 days.
